For the sixth consecutive year, United Way Trinidad and Tobago placed a call for volunteers to reach out and give some time so that the caregivers and children from Homes across the country could have a day of fun and relaxation at the annual United Way Day of Caring. The staff of blink I bmobile happily answered the call to lend their muscle power for the event.
The event was held at the Republic Bank Sports Club and hosted more than 450 children and their caregivers who were treated to fun filled activities such as zumba and karaoke competitions, football, cricket and basketball competitions, pony rides, magic and puppet shows and even the traditional musical chairs.
Approximately eighty blink I bmobile staff members and their families signed up to work alongside United Way to ensure that the honoured guests were treated to nothing short of an enjoyable Sunday. Anjanie Ramesar –Soom – Manager Corporate and Community Affairs, TSTT spent the day alongside the volunteers as put smiles on the faces of the children and caregivers. She explained that supporting the efforts of United Way as they continue to improve the quality of their lives of those in need is very important to blink I bmobile as corporate citizen and encouraging staff volunteerism goes a long way in helping achieve this goal.
The event proved to be a tremendous success with an overflowing display of caring by all participants of the day. United Way’s CEO, Pamela Francis in thanking the volunteers said: “This event depends heavily on volunteerism to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the children and their caregivers and it is very heartwarming to see so many volunteers from companies like blink I bmobile give up their Sunday in order to contribute to the overall success of the ‘Day of Caring’.”
blink I bmobile thanks United Way Trinidad and Tobago for again offering them the chance to share in the special ‘Day of Caring’ and also congratulates them on another successful event as they continue to perform by their watchwords; give, advocate and volunteer.
