Njisane exhaled and smiled with great satisfaction having accomplished his monumentous task of effectively putting the sport of cycling on the calendar of events outside of the Olympic season as the inaugural “Njisane 3 day cycling festival” came to a close on April 21st at the Skinner Park, San Fernando.

The Siparia native believes that success came on many levels as he felt that the festival elevated the sport ; spectators witnessed world class races; elite cyclist and professionals from Antigua, Australia, Barbados, Cuba, Czech Republic, Germany, Columbia, Great Britain, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, USA and Venezuela were able to bond, compete and enjoy the local culture as top artists like Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin performed to the delight of the crowd.  Njisane shared that this event is meant to be the catalyst for sport tourism in the not too distant future.  Especially close to his heart was the fact that the event inspired budding cycling enthusiasts to pursue the sport and his peers helped him by racing for a child of their choice to receive a BMX bike to help boost their interest.

Garvin Warwick (Ag.) Manager Events and Sponsorships of blink | bmobile said: “We are glad to have Njisane as one of our endorsees and as a corporate sponsor of this event, it certainly has been a truly rewarding experience to be a part of such a fresh approach to sport where the serious profession is merged with culture, tourism and includes the youth and icons in cycling.  We at blink | bmobile congratulate Njisane and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Njisane indicated that this milestone could not have been achieved without the support of a great team and sponsors, like blink | bmobile, who believed in the vision and remained committed to the project every step of the way.  He concluded that he remains humbled throughout the journey and looks forward to many more festivals in the future.
