As a nation we have had many young people rise to international success in the areas of sports, entertainment and academics. When these individuals in turn use their success to give back to the community that built them and help develop others, their efforts are definitely worthy of support. This is why blink I bmobile proudly partnered with the Daren Ganga Foundation as gold sponsor for its charity golf tournament recently at the Millennium Lakes Golf and Country Club.

The Daren Ganga Foundation was founded in 2007 by Daren with the goal of assisting local youth in realizing their full potential by identifying children who excel in academics and/or extracurricular activities and providing them with exposure and opportunities to further develop via scholarship and mentorship programmes, sporting camps and financial assistance.

This charity golf tournament is hosted with the hope of raising funds in order to help the Foundation achieve its objective of nurturing and fostering the holistic development of youth of the nation. This objective is an ideal fit for the blink I bmobile Foundation which shares the same vision as the Daren Ganga Foundation. According to Rhonda Lee-Yhapp, Acting Head of Marketing and Communications at blink I bmobile, “Our nation is full of talented young people who are sometimes not afforded the opportunity to reach their maximum potential. We admire the work Daren has been doing in the local community in providing opportunities to those who need it the most. As one of our brand ambassadors we are proud to share his dream and commitment to the positive development of the nation’s youth.”

This year the tournament celebrated its 4th anniversary and has become a much anticipated event on the local golf calendar. Approximately sixty teams made up of one hundred and twenty participants from throughout the region joined Daren as he changed sporting profession for the day to compete for the worthy cause.

In explaining the reason behind his efforts Daren indicated that, “I personally understand how critical support and proper mentorship can be in creating positive outcomes. Through the work of the foundation I would like to return the favours given onto me to the future generation and I am grateful for the support received for this tournament as the funds raised here will help make some dreams come true.”

blink I bmobile congratulates the Daren Ganga Foundation for its efforts in assisting with the development of the local youth. The benefits gained from the commitment and hardwork are priceless to our society.
