bmobile “Olympic Dash” preliminaries kick off this weekend

Trinidad - Top youth athletes face off to decide who will be Beijing-bound.

Bmobile “Olympic Dash” campaign kicks off this weekend at the Mannie Ramjohn and Hasely Crawford Stadium. The first group of Beijing-bound hopefuls will square off in a series of 400M races in a battle for a position in the second round carded for June 7th. At stake, over TT$200,000 in prizes that include airfare, accommodations and tickets to track and field events in the Beijing Olympics later this year.

On Sunday 11th May, some of the country’s top junior male and female athletes will gather at the Hasely Crawford Stadium from 9:00 AM to begin their chase for the golden ticket to Beijing.

Among the hopefuls included top under 17 400M runners Hendrix Foncette and team mate Deon Leondre of Abilene Wild Cats and Kori Woods of Memphsis Pioneers

Among the girls, top under 17 runner Chelsi Campbell and Memphsis club running mate Samantha Syvlann along with Desiree Harper of Brooklyn Athletic Club are listed to participate in the qualifying rounds.
