Bmobile backs Tobago golfers at President’s Cup. Two go on to play at prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Cup.

Trinidad - Two of Tobago’s promising golfers gave a commendable performance at the recently concluded Duke of Edinburg’s Golf Cup. Staged at Windsor from September 12th – 16th, The Duke of Edinburgh Cup is an international annual charity event created to assist young people worldwide. Launched under the name of the UK’s Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the cup enjoys royal patronage and attracts golfers from the Caribbean, Europe, South Africa and Canada. Tobagonians William Shaw and Javon Andrews teamed up to finished 5th overall in the team standings while Shaw tested the leaders and finished 3rd overall in the individual standings. Earlier in September Shaw and Andrews had given a commendable showing among a challenging local field of players in the President’s Cup played at Tobago Plantations. Shaw was part of the seven-member bmobile sponsored team from the Tobago Junior Golf Academy which also included top golfer Christopher Mc Millan. The other Tobago golfers in the President’s Cup were national players Javon Andrews, Mikhail Roberts and Aleema Jack. The bmobile sponsored golfers, Christopher Mc Millan and William Shaw took first prize in the cup, Wellington Baynes and Aleema Jack came in 8th place and Mikhail Roberts and Javon Andrews took 9th. Following that tournament Shaw and Andrews got the nod to play at the Duke of Edinburg Cup.
