Bmobile Soca Spree rocks Tobago

Trinidad - “Mega”, is how promoters of bmobile’s Soca Spree described the annual Carnival concert that energised Tobago last Friday 15th January. Starting at 10 pm, Soca Spree included some of the hottest performers of the season in what is called the grandest show of its kind to ever hit the sister isle.

In its fifth year, the bmobile Soca Spree brought some of the Carnival season’s biggest music stars to Tobago. The event was held at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet.

“It’s going to be mega,” said Darryl Grant, event coordinator and promoter of the show. “Soca Spree is the biggest Carnival event in Tobago for the season.” Soca Spree attendees enjoyed performances from Bunji Garlin, Faye-Ann Lyons and the Asylum band; Shurwayne Winchester and Y.O.U.; JW and Blaze; Iwer George and TC; Patch and Tobago’s own Princess Adana.

Ms. Grant acknowledged the integral role of bmobile and TSTT: “bmobile has been a part of the event from basically the inception.”

Lisa Agard, TSTT’s Executive Vice President of Mobile Services, said the company’s regular commitment to the event was to ensure that Tobagonians could enjoy the vibrant performances of Carnival artistes.

“This is Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, it belongs to all of us and all should be able to partake of our greatest festival without having to take a plane or boat to do so,” she said.
