Bovell leads Olympic coaching clinic for national swim team

Trinidad - Trinidad and Tobago’s national swimmers received an incredible opportunity to learn from the masters recently when Olympic medalist George Bovell hosted a motivational and technical swim clinic. Held with support from bmobile and TSTT, the clinic included instruction from two of Mr. Bovell’s fellow Olympians.

Titled the “bmobile George Bovell Swim Clinic”, the January 7 event for the national team was held at the Blue Dolphins Swimming Pool (at St Mary’s Grounds in St James). Assisting Mr Bovell were Olympic silver medalist and world champion Croatian swimmer Duje Draganja and four-time Olympian and multiple Olympic finalist Salim Iles from Algeria.

“The clinic was created to inspire and motivate the young swimmers,” Mr Bovell explained. “We were also in the water with them to teach techniques and share some of the things we learned that have helped us in competitive swimming.”

As a sponsor of Trinidad and Tobago’s swimming hero, TSTT was only too happy to be involved in the clinic:

“We take any opportunity to contribute to the development and success of both our youth and nation. George’s clinic was a great idea which we know will have a positive effect on swimming in Trinidad and Tobago. We are happy to be involved,” Graeme Suite- TSTT’s Manager Media Relations and Corporate Communications.
