Port of Spain, Trinidad January 7th 2014

Trinidad and Tobago’s ‘Golden Boy’ Keshorn Walcott, on Monday, presented TSTT Chairman Everald Snaggs with a framed and autographed Olympic 2012 uniform, to say thank you for TSTT’s support over the past year. Walcott, 20, made the presentation to a grateful Mr. Snaggs at the Company’s Head Office, on Edward Street, Port of Spain where the Chairman was full of praise for Walcott’s continued hard work and dedication.

The framed Olympic memorabilia is the first item bearing the new Keshorn Walcott Logo making it even more of a keepsake as it formed part of his Olympic uniform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where Walcott won his first Olympic Gold Medal for the men’s javelin. With a throw of 84.58m the Toco-born athlete became the first Olympic gold medalist for T&T in 36 years, the youngest ever medalist in the event, and the first person in 60 years from the Western Hemisphere to win gold in the event.

Walcott’s manager Sean Roach said Walcott was eager to show his gratitude to TSTT for its continued support in his still early career.

“Along with the logo, the frame has the inscription, ‘Launching forward together’ because TSTT has been there for Keshorn throughout all his endeavours over the last year and he really wanted to say thanks.” “The encouragement, advice and support received from TSTT cannot be measured and Mr. Snaggs has really extended himself to help guide the young athlete and Keshorn values that a lot.”

Roach stated that TSTT also sponsored the T&T Elite Twilight Games held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in May 2013 where Walcott threw the second farthest distance he had ever reached. Roach said, Walcott, a TSTT Ambassador, will continue to work closely with the Company and stands ready to provide whatever support he can.

Walcott is carded to kick off his season on May 2nd at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, where he will make his first throw before heading out to Europe where he will compete in the IAAF Diamond League.
