Trinidad - The Cotton Tree Foundation's Charitable Golf Tournament was launched at President's House on Tuesday, May 11th 2010 at 5:00pm. President Max Richards is the patron of the Cotton Tree Foundation. This represents the 8th Charity Golf Tournament to be held by the Foundation since its inception. Once again, this year the Cotton Tree has been successful in getting a team of celebrity players including Brian Lara, Trent Noel, Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes, to name a few, to participate. The main sponsor this year is Blink Services, TSTT and the hole-in-one prize is a 2010 Porsche Cayenne V6 at a value of $800,000 donated by Life Style Motors. Republic Bank, Schlumberger, First Citizens Bank and The Neal & Massy Foundation are all lined up to tee off, together with Telemedia, Digi Data, Repsol, Southern Wholesale Stores and Ventura. The Tournament has also attracted sponsorship from BGTT, L.J. Williams, National Lotteries and Petrotrin who each take three teams onto the greens on Wednesday, May 26th 2010, at St. Andrew's Golf Club, Moka. The Charity Golf Tournament is one of the main fund-raising events held by the Foundation, of which its goals are community building, education and building a more meaningful life for the young people in the areas of St. Ann's, Cascade and Belmont.
