TSTT Celebrates Indian Arrival Day

Trinidad - “Celebrating Our Heritage… the Legacy Continues”

On Thursday May 29th, TSTT employees celebrated Indian Arrival Day with commemorative activities at the Cipero Work Centre. The event was emceed by popular Mastana Bahar host Khayal Mohammed.

“Celebrating Our Heritage… the Legacy Continues”, was the theme highlighted at this year’s celebrations, which focused on the future of our nation – our children – as such the event took on a very unique twist.

President of the TSTT Indian Cultural Association (TICA), Mahadaye Ramlagan said, “Children will star in all aspects of the evening’s celebrations, from leading prayers during the interfaith service to dominating the cast of entertainers.”

For the very first time at TSTT attendees were entertained by performances from the top three winners of the Children of Mastana, the Beena Sangeet Orchestra and even participated in "Pick-a-Pan". They were also treated to tassa, oriental fashion, traditional folk dance, song, delicacies and exciting door prizes.

Founded ten years ago, TICA has been at the helm of Indian Arrival Day celebrations. This year’s event pulled a large crowd of employees, their families and members of the public.
