TSTT CEO announces new Executive appointments

Trinidad - Company embarking on IPTV and brings former NFM CEO on board

TSTT CEO Roberto Peón today announced new Executive appointments in the Mobile Services Division and a newly established IPTV and Content Division at the company.

“The industry in which TSTT is operating has been undergoing disruptive changes and the company has positioned itself to take advantage of the convergence of networks, technology, devices and content.” Peón noted that advances in IP Networks such as what TSTT has invested in, are providing greater speeds and features as exceptional value packages for consumers. “TSTT has been preparing the infrastructure necessary to offer an IP-driven subscription-based TV entertainment service. With effect from June 16th 2008, former Executive Vice President Mobile Services Gary Barrow will head a new IPTV and Content Division.” Peón stated that Barrow’s role as Executive Vice President IPTV and Content will be to drive the development and implementation of this new line of business, exploiting the full potential of TSTT’s ubiquitous wired network.

Under Barrow’s leadership, TSTT Mobile Services not only withstood tremendous competitive pressure but also maintained significant market share leadership by bringing innovations in products and service delivery to customers. “Gary’s knowledge and experience in the telecommunications industry now gives him the ideal combination of training and experience to take on this new role in IPTV and Content,” said Peón.

With Barrow’s new appointment, Peón stressed the importance of TSTT launching new products, improving customer service and ensuring that market leadership is maintained in Mobile Services, while building on the existing momentum with even greater standards for excellence. “I am therefore very pleased to announce a new addition to the executive team in the person of Anthony N. Joseph as Executive Vice President Mobile Services. Mr. Joseph comes to TSTT following a very successful posting as acting CEO of National Flour Mills.”

Joseph joined TSTT with effect from June 16th. He holds several professional qualifications including Masters of Business Administration (Heriot-Watt), Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Certified Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA). “Anthony also has extensive experience in strategic planning, leading growth in competitive environments and delivering extraordinary earning results having worked previously at CARIB Brewery and a number of other highly competitive industries” said Peón.

Peón said Barrow and Joseph will have the support of the entire company to create the right synergies for ensuring TSTT’s continued growth and success at delivering exceptional value to customers.
