In line with TSTT’s vision to become the standard bearer in Trinidad and Tobago for leading edge communications solutions and services that will enrich the lives of citizens, businesses and visitors, bmobile has provided free WiFi on the Logos Hope. The sponsorship by bmobile has allowed the Logos staff and visitors to freely use the internet for work and to share their experiences with their friends and family while onboard the floating book fair.
Anjanie Ramesar-Soom, TSTT’s Manager Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations expressed her delight that the company is able to facilitate the communications needs of the Logos Hope staff and visitors. “bmobile will continue to invest in our citizens in ways which will help them to fully realize their potential. We are pleased to partner with the Logos Hope. Research has shown that there are many health and social benefits to reading. Reading should not be just an academic activity but needs to be an everyday part of our lives. We wish the Logos Hope staff and our citizens an enjoyable, educational and successful visit.”
Nicolas Suarez, the Logos Hope’s Media Relations Officer thanked bmobile for providing the internet and indicated that many persons are using the free internet while they are on the ship and he uses it to upload pictures and videos on the ship’s social media accounts every day. Suarez shared that the unique ship offers over 5,000 books at affordable prices. The range of books includes academic texts, dictionaries, atlases, children's books, novels and other nonfiction titles. Visitors can also buy books on topics such as science, politics, cooking, sports and various other hobbies. The book shelves are replenished continuously so there’s always something for everyone. “There is a lot of interest in our books. People are really excited to visit with us and they buy a lot of books. It’s just amazing to see all the people who are coming here every day. We are really happy to see the crowds.”
Suarez explained that visitors to the Logos Hope include families and children from schools and with special needs. In addition to books, the Logos Hope offers unique, interactive, cultural events and refreshments for persons of all ages. “There is something for everyone. We welcome everyone here in Trinidad and Tobago and look forward to meeting with them and getting to know them a bit while sharing our stories as well.” said Suarez. The Logos Hope will be open to the public at the Cruise Ship Complex, Port of Spain until January 26th. The opening hours for the final day is 2 pm to 9 pm. The entrance fee is $5 and adults 65 and over and children under 12 enter for free.
